Life at OU

As a relatively young university, Oakland University has endured many changes and much growth. It went from 570 students in 1959 to over 16,000 today. But what never changed was the student: always resilient, always determined.

#ThisIsOU, where students aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty. They do what it takes to get the job done, earn their degrees and secure their futures — and make the world a better place while doing it. They work with professors to cure Alzheimer’s disease, grow fresh produce for underserved cities, champion for acceptance and understanding, and achieve Olympic dreams.

Their studies go beyond books — they learn in other countries, research the unknown, give back to the community, create new student orgs, land internships and celebrate victory with the Golden Grizzlies. They push past their comfort zones to try something new, to take a chance, to never give up. They end up finding confidence waiting to be set free.

These are today’s Golden Grizzlies. You’ll be in good company.
