Pre-Dentistry (Concentration)

The majority of pre-dentistry students major in biology or chemistry with a concentration in pre-medical studies.

However, most dental schools do not require a bachelor's degree before admission provided that all the courses in the pre-medical studies concentration have been completed. This concentration represents the minimum course work needed for application to most dental schools and provides the background needed before taking the Dental Admission Test (DAT) entrance exam. The concentration does not constitute a major. Students interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree must elect a major from those offered by the university.
