Foundational Medical Studies Professor Judith M. Venuti, Ph.D., FAAA, received the American Association of Anatomists’ (AAA) A.J. Ladman Exemplary Service Award, an award presented to a member who has provided exceptional service to the association and/or mentorship in the discipline. This is the associations highest honor recognizing a member distinguished in the field of anatomical sciences.

“I was truly honored when a member of the association contacted me and asked for my CV so they could nominate me for this award,” Venuti says.

A member of the AAA since the 1980s who has served on nearly every committee associated with the organization, she didn’t expect to be acknowledged for her service, as it has always been something she has enjoyed doing.

“My service to the AAA was a privilege,” she says. “It allowed me to stay in tune with all that AAA had to offer its members and to help guide some of the programs that provided opportunities to all my anatomical sciences colleagues to present their work, learn about the latest advances in their field, network and gain mentoring.”

Congratulations, Dr. Venuti! For more information about the American Association of Anatomists, visit their website.
