Whether you’re a Pioneer or a Golden Grizzly, Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, which takes place Sept. 22-25, is a great time to return to Oakland University’s campus and see the many reasons to be a proud alum of OU.

“Homecoming is special because it gives everyone – alumni, students, faculty, staff and community members – an ‘excuse’ to take in all that Oakland University has to offer,” said Erin Sudrovech, director of alumni engagement. “Whether it’s a barbecue where you reconnect with old friends, a student performance at Varner, a photo op at Elliott Tower, a meet and greet with your favorite engineering professor, or an energizing campus tour, there’s so much to be excited about at OU.”

Festivities kick off at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 with the Homecoming Graduate Lunch. Other activities will include:

  • Homecoming Photo Contest, 6 a.m. to noon Sept. 23-25, campus-wide: Post your favorite photos of campus, and all the fun you're having at all of the Homecoming activities, with #FutureGrizzly and don't forget to tag @OUAdmissions. Five of the best photos will be chosen to win a Golden Grizzly swag pack. Only photos posted from Sept. 23-25 will be eligible. The winning photos will be revealed starting Sept. 26.

  • Homecoming Kick-Off Carnival, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at the Oakland Center: Celebrate the start of Homecoming and Reunion Weekend with OU alumni, faculty, students and staff at a fun-filled kick-off carnival. Join this campus-wide party that includes exciting activities, food, music and more. OU Athletic merchandise will be available for purchase at this event. Please RSVP to [email protected].

  • Toga at the Tower, 7-11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at Elliott Tower: Spend an evening at Elliott Tower listening and dancing to music, meeting and greeting new and old friends, eating free Greek food and having fun in a toga. OU staff, faculty and alumni are invited to attend as well. Sponsored by the Student Program Board and Center for Student Activities and Leadership Development.

  • Homecoming BBQ and Men’s Soccer Game, 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at the P29 parking garage and soccer field: Bring your friends and family and reconnect with former classmates and university leadership at the Homecoming BBQ, presented by the Oakland University Credit Union. OU merchandise will be available for purchase at this event. Then, follow Grizz and the Cheer Team down to the soccer fields at 3:30 p.m. to watch the OU men’s team take on the University of Dayton.
