Carpooling

Want to save on gas? Looking for rides? There are many great opportunities for carpooling on a daily basis and for weekend trips available to students. 

Campus Eats

Oakland University has a wide variety of food selections available for students, faculty and staff to choose from located all across campus. Information about where to eat, menus items, meal plans, catering, and all things food can be found here.

Important Campus Resources
  • Academic Advising: Is here to help guide students along their academic journey at OU.
  • First Year Advising Center: Welcomes and supports new students and their families during transition into university life.
  • Graham Health Center: Provides convenient, affordable, high quality healthcare right on campus staffed by certified Nurse Practitioners and Physician's Assistants.
  • Lowry Center: Offers early childhood education for children ages 18 months to five years.
Individual School counselors
  • Recreation and Well-Being: Offers programs and services centered around fitness, life balance, healthy living, well-being, as well as intramural and club sports.
  • Academic Success Center: Offers a host of free support services for individual and group peer tutoring supplemental instruction and study skills.
Locker Rentals

Students can rent a locker in the Oakland Center for $5 for fall and winter semesters with a $5 refundable deposit. To rent a locker, contact the Office for Student Involvement.

School Closings

Official closings or cancellation of classes may occur due to severe weather conditions, non functioning university mechanical systems or other unforeseen circumstances. Students are encouraged to sign up for the text message alert system here. Students can also call the school closing hotline at (248) 370-2000.

Spending Money
  • ATM machines are available for students in the Recreation Center, Kresge Library, Oakland Center and in Vandenberg Hall.
  • GrizzCa$h is a fast, easy and convenient alternative to carrying cash on campus. By activating a GrizzCa$h account, students use their Grizzcard as a pre-paid debit card for on-campus purchases. Study Spots

Oakland University has a wide variety of great areas for students to study, ranging from quiet nooks to more heavily populated locations. Below is a list of the most common areas around the University.

  • Campus Computer Labs: A comprehensive list of computer labs can be found here.
  • Engineering Center: Atrium, Einstein’s Bagels and other common areas
  • Human Health Building: Includes a variety of common areas with couches and comfortable seating on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors.
  • Kresge Library: Kresge Library offers everything from group study areas including cabanas and media collaboration rooms to individual study rooms and meeting rooms. For more information, visit Kresge’s website.
  • Recreation Center: The Recreation Center offers a variety of common areas for students to relax and study.
Oakland Center
