Center for Civic Engagement to host Candidate Forum

The Center for Civic Engagement at Oakland University, in partnership with The New Foster Care and Michigan’s Children, will host a Candidate Forum event on Thursday, October 18 in Banquet Room B of the Oakland Center. The event will run from 7-9 p.m.

The Candidate Forum will feature nearly a dozen political candidates in the Michigan House, Michigan Senate and Governor’s race in attendance. The plan is to talk to the candidates about their stance on issues that face children and foster care families.

Confirmed Candidates so far include:

Bill Schuette, candidate for governor

Garland Gilchrist II, candidate for lieutenant governor

Kyle Cooper, candidate for Michigan House District 45

Padma Kuppa, candidate for Michigan House District 41

Mari Manoogian, candidate for Michigan House District 40

Michael McCready, candidate for Michigan Senate District 12

Mallory McMorrow, candidate for Michigan Senate District 13

Jeff Pittel, candidate for Michigan Senate District 12

Doug Tietz, candidate for Michigan House District 41

Michael Webber, candidate for Michigan House District 45

David Wolkinson, candidate for Michigan House District 40
