Oakland University’s Recreation and Well-Being Department (Rec Well), in partnership with the Oakland University Student Congress (OUSC), is providing free summer memberships to continuing OU students and those graduating at the end of this semester. This marks the first summer students will have free access to the Recreation Center.
“Our overall commitment is to the health and well-being of the student body, and healthy students are successful students,” explains Greg Jordan, director of Oakland University Recreation and Well-Being. “Students are seeking healthier and balanced lifestyles to achieve greater physical, mental and emotional states and Rec Well is committed to making summer access a priority.”
Jordan also said that waiving the traditional $100 cost for continuing students this summer marks a major step towards President Ora Hirsch Pescovitz’s goal of making Oakland University the healthiest campus for Michigan.
