Oakland University expands transfer agreements with Delta College
BSN program

As part of an ongoing effort to provide an efficient and cost-effective transfer process, Oakland University has signed an additional articulation agreement with Delta College.

The new agreement helps transition qualified students from Delta College to Oakland University in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. It benefits students by increasing the number of transfer credits they can apply toward their degree, and also ensures seamless movement of students between schools by offering course equivalencies that transfer to OU.

Under the agreement, the maximum number of credits students may transfer toward their degree increases from 63 to 93 credits. The additional 30 credits will be awarded for successful passing of the NCLEX-RN, the nationwide examination for the licensing of nurses in the U.S. OU will verify successful completion of NCLEX-RN and students will have only 32 credits left to complete OU’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

This helps students save money, while also encouraging them to complete their associate degree at Delta College. The agreement is effective through March 2024 and is subject to review for continuation after five years.

"We are excited that this new partnership will allow Delta nursing students the opportunity to further their education online with OU, as well as continue making positive impacts in their communities through their work," said Shane Lewis, director of Undergraduate Admissions at Oakland University.

Dr. Wanda Zenzen, associate professor and nursing coordinator at Delta College, added, “This is a wonderful opportunity for graduates of our registered nurse program to continue their education. We are pleased to have signed this agreement ensuring a smooth transition between two top-quality programs.”

OU also offers the Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) to Delta College transfer students. This also means easier access for the region’s state college students, many of whom are the first generation in their families to seek higher education. For more info about TAG, visit oakland.edu/transfer.
