The Soundings Series will continue in the Winter 2019 semester. 

Winter 2019 sessions will include:

  • NEW DATE! MONDAY JANUARY 28 at 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. - with guest presenter Roop Raj (Fox2 News)

    • "You're on TV! Now What?" Join us for a special Soundings Series Nuts and Bolts session. Fox2 News anchor Roop Raj will lead this session about the do's or don'ts of media interviews and how to interact with TV anchors. 
    • Monday January 28 from 8 - 10 a.m. in Banquet Room B, Oakland Center. Coffee and light refreshments provided.

  • WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 13 at 3 p.m. - guest presenter Kathy Pfeiffer (English)
    • "Engaging the Community Through Storytelling." Join us for a special Soundings Series Nuts and Bolts session. Learn how storytelling can be a powerful and compelling strategy for engaging an audience. Explore how to communicate the value of your work and see examples from various disciplines.
    • Wednesday, February 13 from 3 - 4:30 p.m. in Ambassador Rooms (157-158), Oakland Center. Coffee and light refreshments provided.

Learn how to take your research out into the world and engage the community!

The Soundings Series is an opportunity to:

  • showcase the work of OU’s engaged researchers and public intellectuals
  • learn how you can take your research public and make the world a better place

Each Soundings Series event will feature a talk by a successful, publicly engaged faculty member, describing their work and research career, along with an exploration and guided discussion of the skills, tools, and strategies required to operate as an engaged scholar.
