Centers & Initiatives

Adult Career Counseling Center
The ACCC offers no-cost guidance services to members of the community. The ACCC helps individuals who are considering a career change or are simply reviewing possible career options.

Educational Resources Laboratory
The ERL houses collections of children’s and young adult literature, educational reference and curriculum materials appropriate for grades Pre-K–12, as well as circulating technology and media needed to support the practice and coursework for students.

Galileo Institute for Teacher Leadership
The Galileo Institute is dedicated to supporting the advancement of teacher leadership through a variety of projects and initiatives.

Ken Morris Center for the Study of Labor and Work
The Ken Morris Center for the Study of Labor and Work is a division of OU’s Department of Human Resources Development. Any OU student may select a minor in Labor and Employment Studies through coordination with the Center.

Lowry Center for Early Childhood Education

Designed to benefit OU students, schools, nonprofits, government and industry, the Pawley Lean Institute (PLI) shares concepts and practices of Lean thinking to create leaders and learners in the university, public and private sectors, and the community.

Reading Recovery Center of Michigan
Oakland University Reading Recovery faculty train and professionally develop Reading Recovery teacher leaders who affiliate with the center at OU.

SEHS Counseling Center
The SEHS Counseling Center is a no-cost service offering personal and career counseling. It is a teaching and research facility for the counselor education program at Oakland University.
