Scott Johnson, MBA, MPH, FACHE, CHFP, CSMC

Scott is an experienced healthcare professional of almost 20 years, with areas of focus including population health management, care model design, value-based care programs, business development and contracting.  Scott has worked both for health insurers and integrated delivery systems during his career. He currently works for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan as a Director of Provider Contracting. Scott serves on the Midwest Chapter of American College of Healthcare Executives (MCACHE) Board and chairs the membership committee. Scott also coach’s 5th/6th grade boys lacrosse for the Rochester United Sharks Lacrosse program. 

Scott is a recent alum of Oakland University Executive Masters in Business Administration program, class of 2022. Scott also has obtained a Master’s in Public Health and a Bachelor’s in Economics, both from Michigan State University. Scott is a Fellow (FACHE) in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) in the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

As a health care executive with formal graduate learning in both public health and business, Scott is very passionate about value creation in health care through improved care delivery and outcomes. He believes in continually learning as a prerequisite for both future success and in transferring knowledge to the next generation of health care stewards. Scott has benefited greatly from Oakland University in his recent business studies and is proud to be alumni. Serving on the School of Health Sciences’ Board of Advocacy and Resource Development is a new, incredible way to serve the health of communities.
