Internet Access Resources for COVID-19

Corporations and service providers offering free, discounted, or expanded internet access services during the COVID-19 outbreak. 

At Oakland University, we are committed to sharing the most up-to-date, relevant information regarding OU's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.   1. not terminate service to any residential or small business customers because of their inability to pay their bills due to the disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic;

Free internet accessCharter/SpectrumCharter will offer free Spectrum broadband and Wifi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription and at any service level up to 100 Mbps. Installation fees will be waived for new student households.

Charter will continue to offer Spectrum Internet Assist, high speed broadband program to eligible low-income households delivering speeds of 30 Mbps. Charter will open its Wi-Fi hotspots across our footprint for public use.

Student Laptop Request Form

The Student Technology Center will distribute laptops to students on a first-come, first-served basis. Laptops are only available to students registered for at least one course in the current semester. Please limit requests to those without computers, so that the greatest need can be met. Submitting a request via the STC Laptop reservation request form does not guarantee availability. You will receive a confirmation email if a laptop is available or not.
