Charles A. Pierce

Dr. Charles A. (Chuck) Pierce, Ph.D., is Dean and Professor of Management at the Oakland University School of Business Administration. A collaborative, service-oriented leader with experience in a student-centered institution, Dr. Pierce is focused on student success, research and teaching excellence, community engagement, philanthropy, and transforming the lives of students and residents while enriching the global community.

Through his combination of leadership, curricular expertise, research skills, and deep commitment to serving students, colleagues, and the community, Dr. Pierce is focused on propelling the OU School of Business to a higher level of excellence and recognition for the benefit of students, faculty, alumni, business community, and other stakeholders.

Dr. Pierce brings decades of progressive leadership experience in academic administration to Oakland University. Most recently, he served as Interim Dean and Professor of Management for the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis. Previous appointments at the University of Memphis included Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Research, Chair of the Department of Management, and Coordinator of the management Ph.D. Program. Prior to joining the University of Memphis, Dr. Pierce served as Chair of the Department of Psychology and Coordinator of the Applied Psychology MS Program at Montana State University.

With a bachelor's degree in psychology from Syracuse University, and a master's degree and Ph.D. in psychology from the University at Albany-SUNY, Dr. Pierce’s research interests include workplace romance, sexual harassment in organizations, test bias and discrimination in the selection of human capital, and organizational research methods.
