Studio Art Degree: What You’ll Learn

The studio art major requires a minimum of 62 credits, beginning with three required foundations courses, an art history course, and a course in critical theory. You’ll also complete 16 required credits in one of four specializations:

  • Drawing
  • Painting
  • Arts Tech/Sculpture
  • Photography

The remainder of the art degree consists of elective courses in art history and studio art, plus a required senior thesis and a course in portfolio design and professional practices.
