CBR currently organizes its PI meetings once per semester. The goals of these PI meetings are to get to know the scientific and technical abilities of our colleagues better, and to stimulate potential collaborations among the CBR investigators (i.e., PIs). These meetings are open to all OU faculties. The meeting is held in the afternoon of the study day on the OU calendar (i.e., there will be no classes on that day), or the Friday afternoon before the study day if the study day is during the weekend.
Our Fall PI meetings currently are free style - we invite a keynote speaker for a topic that is interesting and/or important. Our Winter PI meetings currently are reserved mainly for the REF awardees from the last year to present their latest activities in the lab. If you have suggestions for speakers or want to volunteer yourself, please talk to me.

David Stone, the Vice President for Research: Opening Remarks
Ken Mitton, ERI “Development of an Ophthalmic Therapeutic, Noregen TM: Bench to Bedside”
Eight short presentations by our faculties in Physics, Biology, and Chemistry departments.
2023.12.8
At the beginning of this meeting, President Ora Pescovitz introduced the keynote speaker of this meeting, Dr. Virinder Moudgil, who was a founding member of OU's CBR and the President Emeritus of Lawrence Technological University. The title of his talk was " What I wish I knew when I was a young faculty". A long and active Q&A session followed his presentation.
2023.4.19
This meeting was opened by Dr. David Stone, the Vice President for Research. The chairs and representative of the Departments/Institute of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and ERI described the departmental facilities and equipment. This set of presentations was to let our colleagues to know what are available on the campus, so that we can start/increase collaboration on the technical levels, and perhaps reduce the purchase of duplicated equipment. Nine faculties made short presentations in the last part of the meeting. (Sorry, the meeting became too long - my fault!)
2022.12.6
This was our first Fall CBR PI meeting. We invited an external speaker (Dr. Mark Schweitzer, the Dean of the medical school at WSU and the editor for Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging) to discuss " Research Ethics and Biases". After a short break, I made a presentation on the "State of CBR" which was followed by a round table discussion. Four faculties made short presentations on their research.
2022.4.19
This was the first ever CBR PI meeting, which was opened by the Provost Dr. Britt Rios-Ellis and the Vice President for Research Dr. David Stone. Although it was still the end of the covid period, being able to get together was exciting. 13 faculties made short presentations on their research - each with Q&A.
Please let me know if you have suggestions for the invited speakers, and if you want to make a presentation.
