BBC Entrepreneurial Training & Consulting

BBC Entrepreneurial Training & Consulting is a results-driven entrepreneurial consulting group specializing in helping emerging companies to win SBIR/STTR funding and use it strategically to propel growth. The Michigan SBIR/STTR Assistance Program provides SBIR/STTR training and proposal development services to technology companies with costs covered in whole or in part by the state. The program is funded by the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) and managed by BBC Entrepreneurial Training & Consulting. Assistance can be equivalent to upwards of $5,000.

City of Sterling Heights

Sterling Heights Economic Development is the key point of contact for business support and needs. The office implements policies, programs, and activities that seek to improve the economic well-being of the community by supporting the creation or retention of jobs, and facilitating investment and growth in the City.

Grand Circus Detroit
Grand Circus

Grand Circus has a passion for training people for amazing careers and helping local businesses grow by hiring local tech superstars. Their bootcamps serve both purposes: giving people critical skills for tech jobs while introducing them to businesses looking for talent. More than that, they’re here for the broader Detroit community through coworking, classes and events. Grand Circus offers Intro to Coding classes at Mac-OU INC on a regular basis. All classes are free of charge and open to the public.

International Landing Zone
The International Landing Zone (ILZ) is a place for companies with proven technologies in defense or homeland security to explore the feasibility of setting up operations in the United States. Situated within Michigan’s defense corridor, in the Velocity Center of Sterling Heights, the program offers office space and targeted assistance designed to help tenants reach goals for growth. Spearheaded by the Michigan Defense Center, this project is in collaboration with the Macomb-OU Incubator and Macomb County.

Macomb Regional Procurement Technical Assistance Center
Macomb PTAC

The Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) of Michigan are not-for-profit organizations funded by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and local funding partners. The PTACs support our national security by ensuring a broad base of capable suppliers for the defense industry and other agencies, thereby increasing competition, which supports better products and services at lower costs. The mission of the Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) of Michigan is to enhance national defense and economic development of the State of Michigan by assisting Michigan businesses in obtaining and performing on federal, state and local government contracts.

The PTAC located at Macomb Community College offers marketing, technical consulting and training to businesses in the area, specifically: One-on-One Counseling; Bid Match Notifications; Contracting and Subcontracting Assistance; Pre- and Post-Award Assistance; and Government Contracting Training and Special Events.

The Michigan Defense Center is an operation of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation focused on the support, protection and growth of Michigan’s defense and homeland security missions and the Michigan businesses that support our nation’s security and our military’s safety. The Michigan Defense Center is the State of Michigan’s lead voice on the defense and homeland security economy and guides the state’s policies and programs to protect and grow this important sector of the economy. The MDC acts as a liaison between the state and defense interests in the federal government, defense agencies, the defense industry, academia and the defense community and supporting organizations. Nearly 4,000 Michigan businesses are currently serving the defense industry and there’s room for more. The Michigan Defense Center has tools to help your Michigan business.

The Michigan Defense Center is located on-site at the Velocity Center and supports the mission of furthering the defense and homeland security industries alongside the Macomb-OU Incubator.

Michigan Small Business Development Center

The Michigan Small Business Development Center (MI-SBDC) offers expert assistance at no cost to entrepreneurs looking to start or grow a business. With a location right on-site at the Velocity Center, the MI-SBDC provides counseling, training and research to assist small business to launch, grow, transition and innovate. They enhance Michigan’s economic wellbeing by providing counseling, training and research for new ventures, existing small businesses and advanced technology companies. With headquarters at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, 11 regional offices and more than 20 satellite offices, the MI-SBDC provides entrepreneurs and business owners with convenient access to counseling and training throughout Michigan.
