College Math Jump Start

This invitation-only program is a one-week interactive, personalized workshop that is designed to prepare students enrolled in MTH 0661 for their first college math course at Oakland University. Together, we will build your confidence in math and teach you skills necessary to be successful in college math courses and beyond.

• Small class size -- 1 instructor to 4 students, for personalized instruction
• Relaxed and supportive environment -- feel comfortable and ask questions while learning at your own pace
• MTH 0661 instructors -- our instructors will also teach MTH 0661 in Fall semester
• Access to OU resources such as the Academic Success Center (ASC) and the Math Help Center
• Opportunity to increase your learning potential and success rate in a traditionally difficult course

Students in the program are expected to attend on time and fully on all program dates.

Program Session Information:

• Camp Dates: August 12-16, 2024 OR August 19-23, 2024
• Camp Hours: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (Doors open at 8 a.m.)
• Camp Location: Mathematics and Science Center (MSC), Oakland University main campus
• Food: Lunch is served daily for all.
• Supplies: All necessary supplies are provided in the program. 
• Cost: This program is free for students accepted into the program thanks to the support of Oakland University.
