Presenter Oluwaferanmi (Feranmi) Okanlami, M.D., M.S. is an assistant professor of Family Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Director of Medical Student Success Office for Health Equity and Inclusion University of Michigan Medical School.

In his presentation, Dr. Okanlami will dispel the myth that a disability is an inability. He will explain how we can all be advocates for promoting access and inclusion for everyone, regardless of physical functioning.

According to data from the CDC (2017), more than 39.5 million Americans have a physical functioning disability. These individuals may face some different challenges than unaffected individuals, but that does not mean they are unable to have an enjoyable quality of life, participate in activities they enjoy, or be an active independent member of society.

This activity is eligible for Meaningful Participation credit.
