The university's newly formed Employee Recognition Committee (ERC) is excited to announce OU’s first-ever Recognition Nomination Season.
Many of Oakland’s faculty and staff awards presented each year have nomination periods that open or are already active in late winter. The ERC hopes to promote this time of year as a period for campus community members to think about outstanding accomplishments and contributions their colleagues have made over the previous year and to nominate those individuals for appropriate honors and awards.
Awards for which nominations are now being accepted include the following:

Awarded to an individual who has demonstrated extraordinary effort in support of the university mission and strategic plan, spirit of cooperation, and community and university service.
Awarded to an individual who has worked at OU for more than three years and demonstrated achievement beyond the call of assigned tasks and responsibilities, consistently exceptional work and notable leadership qualities.
Awarded to an individual who has worked at OU for less than three years and demonstrated achievement beyond the call of assigned tasks and responsibilities, contributed unique ideas through collaborative efforts, and displayed promising leadership abilities.
Sharon Wilhelm Excellence Award
Awarded to a clerical employee who consistently demonstrates exemplary service, builds positive working relationships, exhibits a positive attitude, participates in University activities outside of work responsibilities and contributes to efficiency in the workplace.
Awarded to a team of faculty and/or staff members for significant contributions that support the University’s strategic plan initiatives or strengthen and improve the University’s effectiveness as a community/institution.
Awarded to a woman who has contributed to the advancement of women at Oakland University and beyond through distinguished leadership, scholarship, advocacy, mentoring, program development or other activities.
Monica E. Emerson Diversity Award
