Seventy-five percent of OU students who were new freshmen in Fall 2021 returned to continue their studies in Fall 2022. The change represents a 2% increase compared to the previous year, which brought with it the lowest retention rate in recent years.

Similarly, the percentage of students returning to OU in Fall 22 with sophomore standing increased to 62% over the previous year.

Increased retention is a positive sign for university leaders working to promote a return to pre-pandemic student engagement levels.
