Research shows leveling off in recent college enrollment declines

Nationally, enrollment for undergraduate students attending community college and 4-year universities increased 2.5% between the Winter 2023 and Winter 2024 semesters, according to a recent report published by the National Student Clearing House.

Nearly all states are seeing growth or a slowdown in declines this past year, after several years of decreased enrollment. Undergraduate enrollment in Michigan increased by 2.0% over last winter.
