OU students vote at higher rates than national average

Seventy-three percent of OU students voted in the 2020 presidential election, which was an increase of 16% from the previous election in 2016.

Findings from the National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE) show that Oakland University students vote at higher rates than students at other public research universities and students at all participating colleges and universities. Seventy-three percent of OU students voted in the 2020 presidential election, which was an increase of 16% from the previous election in 2016. During the most recent election, most students (70%) voted in person.
