Colleagues,
It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the death of Dr. Robert (Bob) J. Christina, who passed away on October 10, 2023.
Professor Christina joined Oakland University in the Department of Reading and Language Arts on August 15, 1970, where he served until his retirement on August 15, 1998. Dr. Christina collaborated with the Early Childhood Program, developed the first computer program in education at OU and served as Department Chair working with faculty to design the on-campus reading clinic.
Dr. Christina also served on numerous university, school and department committees during his tenure. He taught undergraduate, masters and PhD courses while also providing service to the Michigan Department of Education.
There will not be a service/memorial for Dr. Christina. Colleagues and friends may leave fond memories and expressions of sympathy on the Pixley Funeral Home website.
