Darlene Mathiak, Office Assistant III, Physical Therapy Program

It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the death of Darlene Mathiak, who passed away on July 15, 2024.
Mrs. Mathiak joined the Oakland University community in the School of Health Sciences as an Office Assistant III in the Physical Therapy Program on July 30, 1987. During her years of service, she was the recipient of the Oakland University Employee of the Month, the Sharon Wilhelm Award and the Physical Therapy Jane Walter Award. In 2023, the Darlene Mathiak Physical Therapy Program Service Award was established in her honor; and Mrs. Mathiak was the first recipient. She served the university until her retirement on June 2, 2023.
