Oakland University is aware that the College Republicans and Network of Enlightened Women student groups are sponsoring a vigil for Charlie Kirk on Oakland University’s campus on September 15, 2025. Oakland University is not sponsoring or endorsing this event. Oakland University supports the First Amendment right to freedom of speech and expression and the right to assemble peacefully. However, as with all expressive activity on campus, unlawful harassment, violence or threats to campus safety will not be permitted.
