Oakland University has cancelled all in-person classes scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and later on Wednesday, January 25, due to heavy snowfall. The university will remain open, however, and all other scheduled activities on campus will take place as planned unless communicated otherwise.
University instructors may elect to move scheduled, in-person instruction to virtual formats for the evening. Students should look for communication from their instructors or inquire regarding whether classes will be conducted.
At the discretion of deans, department heads, managers, supervisors or their designees, employees may be released prior to the end of their shifts without loss of pay or required use of leave time. Employees with questions should speak with their direct supervisors.
The decision to cancel late afternoon and evening classes is being made independently of any other weather-related declarations. Students, faculty and staff should watch for additional communications as weather conditions evolve.
The university appreciates the patience and cooperation of students, faculty and staff during severe weather events.
