The Oakland University Police Department is responding to the report of a fire on the third floor of the Engineering Center that took place at approximately 5 a.m. on Sautrday, December 9. Campus community members are advised to avoid the area.

With help from the Auburn Hills Fire Department, the fire was quickly extinguished and damage assessment began. Members of the facilities team have found water damage from the fire suppression system on the first, second and third floors and are ventilating the building to remove residual fumes.

The building will be closed until further notice for restoration work. All scheduled classes for the building today have been relocated. Students with questions about their classes should contact their instructors.
