Oakland University's Office of Disability Support Services will host a webinar and panel discussion titled "Recognizing the Strengths of Disability" and featuring Michigan Supreme Court Justice Richard Bernstein.The event will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, November 6.
Bernstein became the state's first blind justice in November 2014 after becoming widely known as a tireless advocate for disabled rights. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Michigan and earned his juris doctorate from Northwestern University School of Law.
A panel discussion welcoming School of Education and Human Services faculty members Darlene Groomes, professor and chair in the Department of Human Development and Child Studies, and Chang-kyu Kwon, assistant professor in the Department of Organization Leadership, will take place immediately following Bernstein's remarks.
Webinar participants are asked to register in advance. Upon completing the registration process, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining and logging into the webinar.
