Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Pediatric Course

40 contact hours will be awarded to those who attend the entire course and complete course evaluation forms.

This 40-hour program is designed for law enforcement, medical professionals, attorneys and advocates who are interested in developing their roles within a multidisciplinary team. The training will focus on a patient-centered multidisciplinary team approach to care for pediatric patients of sexual violence.  

Cost: $500 for the five-day training.

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner
A registered nurse who has been specially trained to provide comprehensive care to the sexual assault patient, demonstrates competency in conducting a medical/forensic exam, and has the training to be an expert witness.

  • Identifying Forensic Evidence
  • Judicial process and nurse examiner's role in child cases
  • Preparing for Court Testimony 
  • Pediatric Growth, Development and Anatomy relevant to sexual assault

The topics listed are considered essential content and focus on the acute pediatric patient. Additional topics or content may be added that are specific to the practice environment.
