After Hours Adult Social

This is a social group for adults with the diagnosis of Asperger's, High Functioning Autism or PDD/NOS.  Come join us for pizza, conversation, cards, games, and fun!  No registration required.  Ages 18 and older; Time:  6:00 - 9:00 pm.  Location:  Oakland Center Building, Ambassador Rooms A-B, (OU Campus). The Joy of Guilt:  Acceptance & Forgiveness
Presenter:  Dr. Thomas Ferrari, Ph.D, OUWB School of Medicine.
This FREE presentation is designed to help you learn to forgive others and yourself for feelings of guilt related to having a loved one on the autism spectrum.  Practice stress management and coping strategies.  Specific topics will include:  Understanding the universality of guilt; Changing the narrative to relieve the guilt; Acceptance and forgiveness are the path to joy.

Sensory Friendly Tree Lighting - 10:00 - 11:00 am.
The Mall at Partridge Creek in conjunction with the Autism Alliance of Michigan is hosting an Intimate Tree Lighting ceremony.  Check-In at 10:00 am.  Santa greets the families at 10:20 am.  Santa lights the Tree at 10:30 am.  Photo opportunity from 10:30 - 11:00 am.

Speech & Language Development Community Workshop - 7:30 - 9:00 pm.
Does your child have trouble with their speech or is their speech difficult to understand?  Does your child have difficulty with social or play interactions?  Join Presenter Amber Tobias, CCC-SLP for this FREE workshop to learn more about tools for growth, stages of language development, warning signs, speech and language disorders, and intervention techniques.
