The CAS ‘76 alumnus and advisory board member has a resume that is nothing if not wide-ranging. While working with the Magdala Center on an interfaith retreat on the Sea of Galilee, they found a first century synagogue when they broke ground in 2009. He helped the University of Louisville plan a groundbreaking state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing campus.

Building a Legacy

Doug Templeton, Ph.D., SECS ’76, grew up watching OU grow from the ground up.

He blazed the trail for his family, too, as he was the first to attend Oakland. Dr. Templeton would earn three degrees: a bachelor’s in engineering in 1976, master’s in electrical engineering in 1979 and a doctorate in systems engineering in 1986.

Leadership OU Earns 2015 Pride of CASE Award

OU was honored from among CASE member institutions from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin, based on their work to promote institutional advancement.

Leadership OU, an Alumni Relations and Student Affairs program that pairs students with successful local alumni mentors, was recognized in December for best student alumni programming by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) at its 2015 conference in Chicago.
