Minority Honors Conference Will Launch National Society

The Oakland University campus will be the launch site of a new National Society for Minorities in Honors (NSFMIH) during a March 9-11 conference supporting diversity, equity and inclusion in honors education.

The Honors College is hosting the conference, designed for faculty, admissions officers, academic advisers, high school teachers, Honors College/program staff, graduate students, and others within the community.

Everyone is welcome to attend or to suggest a presentation, and anyone can be part of NSFMIH.

“Diversity involves everyone,” Honors College Dean Graeme Harper said.

Dr. Harper conceived of the idea for the conference, which he foresees as a key opportunity for attendees to discuss and network among peers to support diversity and inclusion in honors education.
