A Toast to the Tassel New Graduate Reception was recognized for Best New Alumni Program for being an outstanding program that successfully and creatively addresses an institutional need.

The inaugural event was held in March 2016 just before spring commencement to honor graduating seniors before they walked across the stage at graduation. Located at Rochester, Michigan’s famous Royal Park Hotel, the event was marketed as a formal cocktail party free to all graduates. More than 200 students attended the event, which featured a champagne toast given by President Hynd. Young Alumni Council hosted the event.
