Oakland University’s Bachelor of Science in Information Technology was ranked among the 25 best programs of its kind in country, according to a study by BachelorsDegreeCenter.org.
In a brief profile, the website reported that Oakland differs from other programs because of its “focus on a strong foundation and its accreditation.”
The profile says, “Oakland University is ABET-accredited and meets the high standards for STEM fields. That gives employers confidence in potential employees who graduate from the school, and it helps students learn to accomplish their goals by building on their skills.”
The programs were ranked according to five criteria: Cost, Reputation, Alumni Salary, Graduation Rate, and Job Placement. The data, drawn from IPEDS, College Scorecard, and Niche, provides students a fully-rounded, multi-dimensional picture of the programs that will make a strong impact on their career, salary and opportunity. The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects the overall job market for IT to continue growing by as much as 13 percent over the next decade.
