Preacher Lawson will bring his stand-up comedy to Oakland University on Monday, April 4. This free, family-friendly event will take place at 7 p.m. in the Oakland Center Founders Ballrooms. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to all OU students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families and friends. No tickets are necessary.
The Portland-born comedian and YouTube personality gained national attention as a top 10 finalist on the 12th season of “America’s Got Talent.” He later participated in “America’s Got Talent: The Champions,” finishing in 5th place, and also appeared on “Britain’s Got Talent.”
Along with his stand-up performances, Lawson runs a YouTube channel, where he posts travel vlogs, vegan and vegetarian cooking guides, and music videos, all infused with his distinct comedic brand.
The event is sponsored by the Student Program Board, Student Life Lecture Board, Student Video Productions, WXOU, Residence Life Association and Office for Student Involvement at Oakland University.
