The Oakland University Telehealth Visioning Task Force will host its inaugural symposium on Friday, August 19, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in room 1050 of the Human Health Building on OU’s campus. The event is free and open to the public and will focus on the theme of “Transforming Care Possibilities in the Classroom, Clinic and Community.”
A virtual attendance option is available here. Those interested in attending the symposium, either virtually or in person, are asked to register here.
The event will feature a keynote address from Henry Ford Health leaders Courtney Stevens, director of virtual care, and Michael Ellis, RN, Vice President. Their talk is titled “To Infinity and Beyond: Driving Consumer-centric Virtual Health Care Transformation.”
A panel discussion will follow with OU faculty and community partners sharing insights into their telehealth experiences with a focus on bridging academic and real-time care delivery models. The event will wrap up with a time for reflection and networking over light refreshments.
The event is sponsored by the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, School of Nursing and School of Health Sciences.
OU’s Telehealth Visioning Task Force was created shortly after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in response to a shift in health care delivery that included an increase in telehealth service delivery models and impacted the direction of academic training of students from many disciplines.
