Oakland University’s Student Program Board has announced its lineup for the 2022 SPB Spring Concert. On Sunday, April 3, 2022, SPB will be presenting Tai Verdes as the headlining act, Peach Tree Rascals as the direct support act and Gold Vibrations, OU’s premier a cappella group, as the opening act in the Oakland Center Founders Ballrooms. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m.
Tai Verdes is best known for his songs “A-O-K,” “DRUGS,” and “Let’s go to Hell.” He rocketed to stardom after becoming Tik-Tok famous back in 2020. Millions of people heard his song “Stuck in the Middle” and fell in love with his music. Similarly, the direct support act, Peach Tree Rascals, also rose to Tik-Tok fame after their song “Mariposa” went viral.
The SPB Spring concert has been an OU tradition since the 1970s and has featured many popular artists including Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Iggy Azalea, Nick Jonas, and most recently, Blackbear. This year, the Student Program Board is starting a new tradition of hosting the SPB Spring Concert at the O’rena in April and a brand-new event, called the SPB Fall Concert, at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre in September.
