Using the OU Mobile Ordering App, Oakland University students, faculty and staff will soon be able to pre-order food and beverages for pickup within Hillcrest Dining Hall.
“The idea is to offer students, faculty and staff flexibility in terms of how and when they plan to pick up their meals,” said Robert King, senior director of University Housing at Oakland University.
OU students, faculty and staff can download the app now by searching “Transact Mobile Ordering” in the App Store or Google Play. It will be available for use when Hillcrest Dining Hall opens on Sept. 3, 2024.
“If you go to download it now, you’ll see a ton of schools listed in the system, including Oakland” King said. “You can currently see all of our types of food available via the restaurant concepts listed in the app. From there, you’ll be able to select the concept you want to see the menu items that are available at that location.”
The goal, King said, is to provide a “seamless experience” for the OU community.
“Mobile ordering is already trending in terms of how students are getting their food, and we want to be able to provide this option for the OU campus in the most effective way,” he said.
In addition, King said using the OU Mobile Ordering App will provide students, faculty and staff with a longer window of opportunity to order and pick up their food, and potentially pave the way for on-campus delivery in the future.
“There’s so much potential here,” King said.
