OU commencement ceremonies set for December 17 and 18

UPDATE: Due to adverse weather conditions, the start of the Saturday commencement ceremony will be delayed to 9:30 a.m.

To honor this year’s summer and fall graduates, Oakland University will host in-person commencement ceremonies inside the Athletics Center O’rena on campus. 

Undergraduate ceremonies will take place Friday, December 17, 2021. The schedule is below, along with links to the YouTube livestreams for each ceremony.

  • 9 a.m. - College of Arts and Sciences and Bachelor of Integrative Studies

  • 1 p.m. - School of Business Administration, School of Education and Human Services, School of Engineering and Computer Science, School of Health Sciences and School of Nursing

A ceremony for all master’s and doctoral graduates will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021.

The following protocols are in place to protect the health and safety of attendees: 

  • Masks are mandatory indoors for all campus community members and guests, regardless of vaccination status.

  • Current students planning to participate in commencement must be vaccinated or have an approved exemption, per OU’s vaccine mandate

  • Guests are encouraged to be vaccinated, but not mandated to be.

  • Prior to coming to campus, all university community members and visitors are required to complete the online screening process, regardless of vaccination status. This will be checked before entering the O'rena. 

  • For the safety and security of attendees, there will be a no-bag policy at the O'rena Athletics Center for both guests and students. Please leave your bag at home or in your vehicle. Diaper bag contents can be brought in a clear ziplock bag.
