Following a search, Dawn Aubry, of Oakland Township, has been selected to become Oakland University’s associate vice president for Enrollment Management. Her new role is effective March 1.
Aubry has nearly 25 years of higher education experience in roles of continually increasing responsibility. Most recently, she served as the university’s director of Undergraduate Admissions. She has also held positions in enrollment management, admissions, housing and resident life, student conduct, student orientation and student programming during her career.
In addition to her most recent role, Aubry spent time as interim assistant vice president for Student Affairs and interim director of Undergraduate Admissions. Her other roles at Oakland have included: associate director of Undergraduate Admissions, director of New Student Programs and assistant director for New Student Programs. Prior to joining OU in 1998, Aubry gained valuable career experience working at Kent State University and the University of Cincinnati.
“Dawn has had success in every role she’s had here at Oakland University, and with the enrollment challenges all universities face today, she has the experience and expertise we need in leading our Enrollment Management team,” said Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost James P. Lentini. “Under her leadership, we will develop and implement new enrollment initiatives, refine our student recruitment process and continue to be a university of choice for many of our region’s highest-achieving students.”
Active on campus as a chairperson or member of more than 70 university committees, Aubry has made dozens of presentations at professional conferences and belongs to several professional organizations. They include the Michigan and Detroit College Access Network groups; the National and Michigan Associations for College Admissions Counseling; the American and Michigan Associations of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers; the Collegiate Information and Visitor Services Association (CIVSA); the NAFSA Association of International Educators; the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators; and the Detroit Economic Club.
Aubry has been a member of the College Board Enrollment Management Leadership Academy, the Oakland University Leadership Academy and a Harvard Summer Institute on College Admissions participant. She has been honored as a Timothy G. Larrabee SOGI Equity and Inclusion Award winner and chosen as the Outstanding Oakland University Administrative Professional of the year award recipient during her career.

Aubry received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Oakland University, her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration & College Student Personnel from Kent State University, and is currently a doctoral student in Educational Leadership at OU’s School of Education and Human Services.
