The Office of Public School Academies has recently welcomed Tom Kozak as the new principal at Caniff Liberty Academy. Kozak comes to the role with twenty years of educational experience in a variety of roles throughout his educational career. For the past two years, he served as the Dean of Behavior and Academics at Caniff Liberty Academy, providing a skill set focusing on curriculum and instruction, assessment, and remote learning.
When asked to share insight into his outlook as an educator and school leader, Kozak had the following to say:
What are you most excited for in the upcoming school year?
The opportunity to work with our staff and families; to provide engaging instruction that promotes student growth and aids in their development intellectually and socially.
What is one thing you enjoy about your new role?
One thing I enjoy in my new role is the pleasure of working with such a hard-working and dedicated staff.
What is your WHY in this new role?
I would like to make a difference in the lives of the students and families I serve.
When not in school, what do you do to practice self-care?
I try to stay active as much as possible. In my leisure time I do my best to spend as much time with my family. We love to travel and to spend time outdoors with activities such as hiking and camping.
