PACE offers continuing education and development options for nurses looking to expand their skills. OU’s Center for Human Animal Interventions offers nurses the opportunity to complete short, online, and on-demand courses for continuing education credits. In addition, other trainings and workshops are offered throughout the year.

Elder Maltreatment: A Comprehensive Look at Issues and Resources

This conference is intended for members of health care, law enforcement, the legal system, and social systems; all professionals who are stakeholders in the care and provision of resources and services for elders. Content will include an overview of elder maltreatment and the scope of the issue. Legal concerns and circumstances surrounding prosecution of crimes against elders will be discussed. The role of adult protective services in issues of abuse as well as mandatory reporting of elder abuse will be highlighted. Special topics include: LGBTQ concerns, elders with disabilities, and resources/services to support elder adults.
