Research Interests

My research were focused on the development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methodology and image analysis for treatment planning and risk prediction of neurological diseases, which include perfusion, diffusion, spectroscopic imaging, magnetization transfer imaging, blood brain barrier permeability, mean vascular density, susceptibility weighted MRI (SWI) incorporating phase information, MRI molecular imaging, q space diffusion tensor imaging (q ball and persistent angular structure MRI), functional MRI (fMRI), and apply them to the investigation of neurological injury/diseases, such as traumatic brain injury, diabetes, stroke, multiple sclerosis etc. My current research focus is to develop MRI methodologies and analysis for quantitative evaluation of glymphatic response to neurological diseases. My MRI research at Henry Ford Hospital (HFH) has been supported by over 20 grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) continuously since 1999.
