Nukes and Your Future: A Student and Community Forum

In conjunction with the Democracy Institute Consortium along with the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies at Wayne State University, Oakland University will host a forum to examine the threats of nuclear weapons in today’s world. A panel of experts will present on these threats and the challenges that the world community has to confront today in addressing the growing rhetoric coming from Washington, Moscow, and other nations about the acceptance of developing more and using nuclear weapons as a tool of statecraft.

Panelists include:

  • Dr. Frederic Pearson, Director of the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies at Wayne State University
  • Dr. Anthony Perry, Director of the Democracy Institute Consortium, and Political Science Instructor, Henry Ford College
  • Dr. Alvin Saperstein, Professor Emeritus of Physics at Wayne State University
  • Dr. Prasad Venugopal, Professor of Physics at the University of Detroit-Mercy
  • Dr. Laura Landolt, Associate Professor of Political Science at Oakland University
