Introduce Tina Freese Decker

I am so pleased to be with you this evening at an event that honors extraordinary leaders – Suzanne Shank, Deborah Wahl and Tina Freese Decker – who, by the way, all happen to be women.
Gone are the days when we refer to a “great woman leader.” The records and accomplishments of these women speak for themselves …
They are extraordinary leaders…regardless of gender.
Their accomplishments are our accomplishments.
There can be no doubt.
- Women have arrived.
- And we are making our mark…

The quality of a leader is best measured in the people’s lives that she influences… and her impact on the community.
An effective leader is a visionary….
a role model…
…and someone with the ability to inspire others for a cause and to achieve a goal.
Again and again, Tina Freese Decker has proven that she meets the highest standard of a leader.
As president and CEO of Corewell Health, Tina is known for her vision and relentless drive.
She was a key architect of the 2022 integration of Beaumont Health and Spectrum Health.
Tina understands how to lead a healthcare institution because she has seen healthcare from many sides, beginning her career in a community hospital admitting department and rising to become a chief strategy officer and then president and CEO of Spectrum Health in 2018.
Her passion for innovation and accomplishing what is possible always comes through… along with her deep commitment to developing a workplace that fosters professional growth.
As head of Corewell, Tina is a major voice in shaping health policy and advocating for accessibility and equity in health care in Michigan.
In civic, economic, cultural and philanthropic organizations across the state, Tina lends her time, voice and talent for the betterment of the people of our state.
