06/23/17 - Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid is a nationally recognized training that explores common mental health problems and addictions and teaches a 5-step action plan for assisting individuals experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis. This training will include supplementary information pertinent to higher education settings. It is appropriate for anyone who interacts with young adults or college students in addition to anyone who wishes to take the standard adult MHFA. Covered topics include depression, anxiety, suicide, self-injury, psychosis, and substance use disorders. There is no cost for current or continuing students and employees at OU; a $20 fee will be charged to all other participants to cover the cost of the manual.
