July 11-15, 2022, Monday - Thursday 9 am to 3 pm, Friday 9 am to Noon
Take your playing to the next level spending the week on:
- playing fundamentals
- Michigan All-State Audition preparation
- Solo & Ensemble preparation
- playing in Trombone Choir or Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble
- college audition preparation
Final concert on Friday morning.

OU Summer Jazz Intensive
July 18-22, 2022, Monday - Thursday 10 am to 3:30 pm, Friday 10 am - noon
Day Camp on the beautiful campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan
The OU Summer Jazz Intensive is designed for high school instrumentalists (entering 9th grade through graduating seniors) of all levels and instruments to expand their knowledge in improvisation, ensemble techniques and jazz fundamentals. We will also cover topics such as the history and lineage of jazz, bridging classical to jazz, jazz as language and much more. Students will be placed in a combo. There will be a final concert on Friday morning.
Instructors: Tim Blackmon, Marion Hayden, Scott Gwinnell, Mark Kieme, Gayelynn McKinney, Enrique Rios-Ellis and Mark Stone.
