A member of the Oakland University community since 2002, alumna Michele Soroka currently
teaches undergraduate music theory, aural skills and musicianship for dancers in the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance. She also teaches music theory and piano to pre-college students in the OU Community Music program and in her private studio. Soroka supports the Oakland Symphony Orchestra administratively by working with musician contracts and creating the concert programs and other publicity material. She is also the accompanist at two local churches.

Soroka graduated with a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy in 2010. She won the concerto
competition, performing with the OSO, and she was awarded departmental honors as Distinguished Musician as a graduate student. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance in 2007, and she was awarded a MaTilDa for outstanding service and the Jennifer Scott Memorial Award for excellence in piano teaching during her years as an undergraduate.
