Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at Oakland University have been advanced with the development of the University's fourth strategic goal focused specifically on diversity in 2017. With the addition of a Chief Diversity Officer, the Division of Student Affairs was expanded to Student Affairs & Diversity, and the information provided is a culmination of university-wide efforts to advance DEI at OU.

OU Strategic Goal 4: Diversity
Advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in an environment of mutual trust and respect at all levels of the institution and facilitate opportunities and success for all community members.

DEI Goal Focus Areas:
4.1 Establish policies and practices that support and promote diversity and inclusion
4.2 Become a campus of choice for students, administrators, faculty and staff from underrepresented minorities and underrepresented groups (URMs and URGs)
