Ray Bahado-Singh, M.D.

Dr. Bahado-Singh joins Beaumont from Wayne State University and the DMC Hutzel Women’s Hospital, Detroit, where he has served as professor and associate chairman in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He also served as the director of Obstetric Ultrasound, Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy, director of Perinatal Genetics and director of the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine. He was a faculty member and researcher at the Perinatology Research Branch, the Intramural Division of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, from 2005 to the present. Before joining Hutzel in 2005, Dr. Bahado-Singh served as director of the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and was the director of the Prenatal Ultrasound Division at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. "Dr. Bahado-Singh comes to Beaumont with an impressive array of clinical, administrative, research and teaching skills that will benefit Beaumont as we continue to develop our services for women,” says Dr. Diokno.
Dr. Bahado-Singh received his medical degree from the University of West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica, and did his residency in OB-GYN at New York Medical College / Metropolitan Hospital Center, New York.
An active researcher, Dr. Bahado-Singh has focused his interests on prenatal prediction of fetal Down syndrome and first trimester screening for congenital heart defects, as well as congenital heart defect and the early prediction of pediatric brain disorders. He was a co-investigator for the NICHD-funded trial for treatment of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. He has published nearly 100 articles in addition to book chapters and numerous abstracts on scientific topics related to women’s health.
